BEAVER VALLEY’S JASMINE BAIRD NAMED TO CANADA’S WINTER OLYMPICS TEAM

Twenty-two year old Beaver Valley snowboarder Jasmine Baird will represent Canada and the Club at the Beijing Winter Olympics in just over two weeks!

Jasmine was named to the Olympic Team for Snowboard Slopestyle (Park) and Big Air yesterday, alongside 2018 Canadian snowboard medalists Sebastian Toutant (gold), Laurie Blouin (silver), Max Parrot (silver) and Mark McMorris (bronze), among 14 others. This will be Jasmine’s first ever Olympics! She will also be Beaver Valley’s 2nd ever Winter Olympian, following in footsteps of Veronica Brenner who won the silver medal in Freestyle Ski Aerials at the 2002 Games!

A product of Beaver Valley’s renowned snow park facilities, events and snowboard park program, Jasmine grew up riding at the Club with her family and friends. She was first introduced to snowboarding at the age of two by her snowboarding parents Linda and Andy Baird.
