Park & Freeride Programs

Park & Freeride programs are perfect for Recreational Snowboarders of all ages including First Timers to the Park; Crossover Program skiers and snowboarders who want to take their snowboarding to the next level; as well as Progressing Riders who want to try out grassroots park- slopestyle competition; through to the club’s most accomplished riders looking for coaching at the Pro-Am Slopestyle level.

By the way, In case you haven’t heard, Snowboard Slopestyle was just added as a men’s and women’s event for the next Winter Olympics!

We have Park & Freeride Programs to accomodate all different ages and skill levels from Introductory to Development to Advance/Competitive featuring some of Ontario’s top coaches for all riding styles!! All Park & Freeride programs will also include an Air Bag jump training session and participation in Beaver Valley’s very own, fun-oriented Quiksilver King of the Park recreational series featuring tons of prizes for everyone ! And new this year is optional Trampoline training Sessions!

Introduction to Park

Skill development includes:

  • Rider improvement ( learn skills in speed control, proper balance and board control)
  • Park Etiquette
  • Learning to ride regular and switch strongly on various terrain
  • Introduction to boxes and rail techniques.
  • Proper approach tactics for various features
  • Proper jump techniques
  •  Grab techniques.
  • Intro to spins
  • Introduction to competition at a grass roots level  in a fun environment that is not highly competitive 
  • We encourage riders to take part in our Quiksilver King of the Park Series.

Development 

Skill development includes:

  • Rider Improvement
  • Learning to ride all styles of features regular and switch
  • learning to ride and slide larger rails & leadges
  • Learning to spin on larger jump features
  • Learning competition strategies (putting together winning runs)
  • Beginning to compete in amateur events ( Railjams, Slopestyles}

ADVANCED/Competitive

Skill development includes:

  • Learning all tricks on rails
  • Learning larger rotations such as 720′s and up
  • Learning off axis or corked rotations
  • Compete in Ontario’s top circuits and beyond
  • Video editing and sponsorship consulting

January 7 – March 4, 2012 (9 weeks) 10:00-noon & 1:00-3:00pm

2 options available: Full weekend/Saturday & Sunday or a Saturday only program

**In an effort to streamline registration, participants will enrol in the general program and then participants will be divided into groups based on age, interest and ability by the coaching staff after the first weekend of programming. There will be 3 categories Introductory, Development & Advanced/Competitive.  Add a Tramp Pass  for all snowboarding & freeride participants for only $99!   See below.

Trampoline Pass New!!

All Park & Freeride program participants are eligible to purchase a BVSC trampoline pass for the winter for $99.  (This entitles you to join 7 private sessions for this program)

Trampoline schedule: Saturday January 14, 21 & 28, & February 4,11,&18, 2012 7pm-8pm, 100 Mountain Rd, Collingwood,Ontario

Our Trampoline Program Wrap Up Party will be held Saturday February 25th from 7pm -9pm.
