An Event Assistant is required to help enhance our member experience here at BVSC.

We are looking for a high energy individual that has a pleasant persona coupled with sound judgement; flexibility, above average communication and organizational skills, good time management with the ability to think outside the box in order to bring outstanding opportunities to our members and guests. Applicants must be willing to work weekends, holidays and some evenings during our operating season.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Act as “front line” person for staff and visitors looking for information about events at Beaver Valley Ski Club.
  • Assist with registration and ticket sales management.
  • Assist with set-up, tear-down and logistics of events.
  • Assist with posting updated communication throughout the resort. (I.e posters/results)
  • Work with Event Coordinator to provide appropriate assistance to member committees
  • Work with Children’s Event Assistant with implementation of weekly children’s activities
  • Assist with maintaining the Club’s social media channels
  • Assist with the design and maintenance of our ScreenScape digital signage program 


  • Superior customer service skills
  • Good working knowledge of computers and the Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to work and stay calm in a fast paced environment
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays during the ski season
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Must have and maintain an excellent punctuality and attendance record

Position:  Division 1 U16 Ski Race Coach

Reports to: Head Coach Alpine Ski Racing

Job Description:

The Division 1 Head Coach is accountable for the smooth and professional operation of the Division 1 race team.

Staff: As required to maintain an 8 – 1 athlete ratio

Nature and Scope of the Position:

The candidate will be responsible for the refinement and implementation of a Division 1 program that meets and exceeds the needs of our members.  Such programming will include pre-season, off-season, holiday and weekend programs.

Experience at the Division 1 or FIS level will be a major asset.

Ability to develop yearly training plans for all team members.

Hire and train seasonal staff with Head Coach to meet the needs of the Alpine Programs Department.

Continue to develop and motivate program staff and athletes.

Practice competent computer skills and be comfortable working with Microsoft Word and Excel.

To execute a program budget as planned while delivering a high level of customer service.

Coordinate with the Alpine Programs Coordinator to develop a strategy for all club racing activities to ensure an effective program is in place.

Manage the Division 1 program with LTAD philosophies in place.

Maintain effective communication with team members and staff via email

Duration of Contract:  November 15, 2016 to March 31, 2017, the candidate must be prepared to maintain limited involvement in program operation throughout the off-season months as deemed necessary by the Head Coach.   The contract period will include pre-season program and camp planning and execution during summer months and throughout the fall, and will conclude with year-end wrap up in early April at which time next season’s contract will be discussed.

Hours of Work:  During the season, it is expected that Club operating hours and race events will influence the number of hours required during any given week.  It is expected that the required hours will be worked to ensure the success of program.  Given the high demands of this position during holiday and peak competition season, BVSC will be flexible with the hours of work during the remainder of the season, on approval of the Head Race Coach.  The candidate will be expected to travel to mid-week competitions as required.

Compensation: Negotiable, depending on qualifications, experience and time commitment.  Compensation will be competitive in the industry for a high level sport program manager.
