In Memoriam of Ross Cunningham

October 24, 2012 | By: Beaver Valley Ski Club

Ross Cunningham passed away February 19, 2012.  Ross was a Charter Member who started taking his family skiing to Beaver Valley in 1961.  Season pass badges from 1961-62 are still proudly displayed on chalet walls.  In 1964 Ross took the opportunity to purchase one of the original chalets on Pioneer Drive conveniently located on the river and in front of one of the rope tows.  Joy could watch over the young children from the kitchen window, the chalet became a wonderful family home away from home.

At 95 years of age Ross enjoyed excellent health right until the day of passing.  He and his wife Joy of almost 71 years lived independently in their condominium in Toronto and continued to enjoy frequent trips to the chalet at Beaver Valley.

Over the years, Ross saw many changes at the valley as Rope Tows became T-Bars became Quad Chairs but most importantly children, grandchildren and great grandchildren continue to enjoy all that Beaver Valley and Beaver River have to offer year round.
