Notable mention to Blue Mountain of course, but we’re not really in the same division as the public behemoth.
Guests and members are often impressed and proud of our efforts that we are taking – re-usable dishes, dyson dryers, and not to mention the $50,000 grant that we were awarded from Sustainable Slopes.
RECYCLING: A+ You are recycling masters, you’ve been doing it since the 80′s and you follow instructions on those blue bins like it’s your duty. In case you didn’t know, all glass, plastic, paper and metals can go in any recycling bin, even if it’s labeled “Cans”, just lift that silly one-hole lid and put that plastic in there.
GARBAGE: B- Everything that makes it into the garbage theoretically “can” go in the garbage, but some things can be diverted ie. fry boats, slushie cups and plastics (Fry boats and slushie cups are compostable! Plastics in recycling).
COMPOSTING: C It’s a change and it’s new, so we don’t expect perfection. DOES IT COMPOST?
Paper plates covered in ketchup? Yes!
Chip bags? Nope, in the garbage please!
Tin foil? Nope
Fry boats? YES! In the green bin!
Dirty napkins? YES, get them in the green bin!
Kids, share this with your parents. We have a big compost bin out back and we can’t compost with chip bags and tin foil in there, but we also can’t compost unless you put all the organics in there! You need to make it happen, invest in the future of our children, the future of our snow fall, reduce landfill waste and emissions, and take the time to sort it right! (This gentleman even nudged me out of the way to get to the organics bin!)
